Also, what do Atheists/people who don’t follow the Bible do in court?

 in some non-secular countries, they’re not allowed to give testimony, so, nothing, course, in some places women aren’t allowed either.  in secular nations, like canada and the states, there’s no rule that says anyone has to swear on anything.  beside being a non-secular icon that should have no place in a state run court, if someone that doesn’t believe swears on it, they can lie all they want.  if the court accepts that someone who swears on it is bound to be honest, they can fall into the trap of taking everything at face value.

a person that doesn’t believe in hell wouldn’t be worried about being sent there, someone that quivers in terror at the thought of getting caught lying, and going to hell would be the only one that would be bound by a bibleswear.  there are however fines and prison to face, a person caught lying in court(not applicable to the defendant in some places) will get them locked up, good enough reason to keep everyone else honest.

even better, in any decent translation of the bible, hell doesn’t, and has never been mentioned as any real place.  the closest is the grave, where everyone waits for awakening, the story goes that jc went there, and brought back the great teachers… iow, everyone goes to hell, yet nobody is aware of it.  that literal interpretation is what the jehovah’s witnesses use, even though they’re as potted as the rest, their interpretation of hell is the closest to what is actually written.
