Am I the only person who’s grown weary about labeling themselves a feminist since joining tumblr? 

I saw one actually trying to argue that gay men are inherently misogynistic because they aren’t attracted to females.

Naive fool that I am, I only thought that people the likes of Rush Limbaugh even thought that feminism was a bad thing. I don’t give a shit. I’m still in favor of equal rights for women. By definition, that makes me a feminist. Hate me if you must.

it’s more about the REALLY bad name that some feminists are giving the rest of us, some even emphatically trumpeting their will to slaughter their own male children if they could get away with it. but, seriously folks, gay men misogynists because they’re not hot for women? does that seem feminist? to me that seems misandrist. i’d draw a line from misogynist through feminist, then to misandrist. only reason i’d call it feminist, instead of humanist, is that humanist is taken, and women are the ones that got the shitty end of the stick, calling it feminist is about supporting the elevation of female rights to equality.

if feminism is about equal rights, fine, but does what that person said seem anything like support of equal rights? that seems like man hating.
